My Job and the future

Yes, I do have one.  I work at a small german bakery as a waitress in the cafe that's attached.  It's an easy bus ride from where I live.  I like the job and the people I work for and with, but don't make enough money to live alone or with roommates.  Since me getting on disability is looking more and more like a pipe dream, and the job that I have now is most likely about as far as I will ever go in waiting on people (as much as I like it, I know that I can't do it forever) I have to finish high school, something that I should have finished a long time ago.  Right now, I'm just taking one math class, in the evening, which has been working out well so far. If I want to actually get into a program, I think that I will likely have to take some high school english courses too, if english 12 is a prerequisite.  I did actually finish a grade 12 english course, but that was years ago, and the credential from that course be outdated by now.

Why I am silent (at least some of the time)

My AS has a lot to do with my silence and also my not being able to socialize very well. But there are other reasons why I am sometimes mute for long periods of time.  There have been times when I talk in circles (my sincere apologies to everybody who's ear I have talked off) and for whatever reason, go on and on about something very forgettable.  It's pretty often that after I do that, I won't say anything for hours after, so I can avoid getting into another "circle monologue" that some poor person will be subjected to.  I've also met other people who have Asperger's (possibly some other issues as well) who tend to bluff and bluster their way through life, meaning they say they'll do things about their problems, but really they expect others to take care of them.

Little bit about me and my blog

I want to use this blog to write about life, the good parts and the bad ones, as I see it.  I plan on writing about everything, from personal finance, mine and in general, to losing some extra weight; I need to lose about 40 pounds, but right now, I'll take what I can get.
I also want to write about issues that people with AS face every day, such as poverty, unemployment and underemployment.  Many people who think they know about Asperger's seem to think that getting on some kind of funding (like disability) is the answer to these issues.  However, I have applied twice, in the province that I'm living in now. The first time, I was denied outright.  The second time, they actually mailed the entire application back to me, stating that it could not go any further, because of some red tape issues.  That is just one example of a misunderstanding many seem to have about Asperger's and Autism. There are many more, which I can't go into now, because it's late and I do have work and a class tomorrow.

My first post, so please....

go easy on me.  I've been wanting to start writing a blog for a while now, so that I could write about Asperger's Syndrome and autism, something that I believe many people do not understand, or even try to.  I have also read somewhere that writing a blog is a good way to get started as a writer, assuming that the blogger is any good at it.
